Blog Prompt

Do you need a break? From what?

I need a break from people piggy backing on other people’s posts with marketing links that don’t even have any relevance to whatever the post is about.

I don’t know about everyone else, but the reality is that people don’t really go into a lot of shared links on posts, so why think that people would waste time on viewing comments on posts and then going to those relevant links.

Build your own audience, relevant to the topic you want to share and stop hogging other peoples posts. We need that space to actually see comments that are of value to whatever we post.

That’s something I’m not a a fan of either. I think it’s a bit rude when people do that as well. I welcome comment, but don’t think people should use it to post links.

    1. I don’t mind links if it’s relevant to the topic posted. But if it’s not ….why do it 🙂 I agree its kinda disrespectful towards the audience you are posting for and to yourself because it shows you have no pride in whatever you are networking out.

    2. Bubblegum says:

You are really right here, people need to understand that posting links in someone’s post isn’t a good thing.
I’ve had my own fair share of people posting their book links on my account, and I’ve deleted.

      1. Boils down to respecting others. Point blank.

  2. Phil Huston says:

Advertising on someone else’s site, without contextuality AND consent, is rampant and rude. Unless the post specifically asks for links on a given subject. By the way here’s my latest!
    Just kidding.

  3. Monch Weller says:

Even worse, if the links explicitly advertise illegal goods such as drugs and firearms! I’ve had that recently, and good thing Akismet managed to intercept the comment.

    1. That’s really insane 😳

  4. Dawie says:

My rant would be about the fact that WP wants you to write about shitty prompts they think out, who came up with that idea?

    1. I dunno but it sure generates views to your site 😀😏

“Amen” to this! I also get tired of the DM’s on social media like Twitter and IG that try to sell you something. I usually ignore or block . . . give it up, already!

    1. Did you read this post?

      1. Monch Weller says:

I doubt he did. You should mark comments like that as spam next time.

    I don’t really like this

      1. Mbadino says:

        The post itself

      2. Well, I feel like most people here agree with me. So it was a post well set 🙂
